Hello all you at-war players out there. I've been playing for a while and have greatly improved since my former nooby self. Back then I used to think RA was good, until I regularly lost due to a shortage of cash and my cities being taken back as quickly as I took them. Nowadays I like to use SM on big maps and GW or PD on smaller ones where the starting income is <_10k. Now there's a lot of topics about basic tactics such as walling, turnblocking, strategy-specific suggestions, what upgrades to get, and the like. However, I feel like I've reached a wall in my improvement, so I was wondering if there were any advanced tips out there anyone would be willing to share. For example, how to have a good guess of an opponent's next move, how best to win a war on multiple fronts, e.t.c. Even the tiniest advice would be appreciated, such as "if you are low on money buy 2 militia instead of 1 infantry because 2 militia is cheaper, and has 8 def, 14 hp which is better than 1 infantry with 6 def 7 hp". Also, I've noticed that when I try to move land and air units from a city, I have to move them separately. By this I mean I can select land units to move on an AT, let's say, but I have to actually move them first before I go back to the aerial units window and move bombers out of the city too, or else if I select land units to move then go to the air units window and try to move air units, only the air units move while the land units I selected resets to 0. Is there a solution to this problem, and if there isn't, does it affect turnblocking (for example, does moving 5 bombers from a city to turnblock and then 3 infantry right after count as 2 movements, which wouldn't be the same as moving all 8 units at the same time, and therefore lower the turnblocking chance?)

I can't really provide you with tips that help you "have a good guess of an opponent's next move" or " how best to win a war on multiple fronts" because it's pretty vague. And even if you did narrow it down, I doubt you'd understand since you don't have a solid grasp of the basic game mechanics.

My best advice for you would be to play 3v3's and only 3v3's from now on. Forget about World50k/RP/Scenarios...etc. 3v3 everyday and you'll improve a lot more. If there aren't any 3v3's on you can join EU+ 10k games but try not to ally whore.

In case you've never played a 3v3 before: http://atwar-game.com/forum/topic.php?topic_id=10024

That guide above just shows you which countries to pick and which strategies to select as said selected country. The game automatically starts with selected teams so you won't be able to ally your enemy. It doesn't, however, explain how you play it because that's too complicated so the only way you'd actually learn it is from the experience of playing it over and over again.

Also, if you haven't already, I'd suggest you sign up for the "Adopt A Newb" list here: http://atwar-game.com/forum/topic.php?topic_id=10196 and have your mentor tutor you to get better.

Once you've become proficient in 3v3's you'd likely dominate any other game (so long as you don't get ally whored/backstabbed/trolled...etc.)

Wall, wall like there is no tomorow.

This was a 3v1 game (against Learster). Took 70 turns (4 hours) and in the end 2k win.
