Afterwind- What's in a Name?

OK.... First off, I'm a big fan of this game, and all the hard work you've put in so far, and are continuing to put in. It's a great design, very addicting, lots of fun (at least as long as the server doesn't crash)

But...as an American, perhaps I'm missing something, but I don't get the name.

Sure....I understand that an Afterwind is "A wind produced by the updraft accompanying the rise of the fireball of a nuclear explosion and directed toward the burst center."

but....what's the connection between nukes and this game???

And it's not just in the title, but when you surrender you are informed that you "laid down your (nuclear) arms"

It's an [excellent] CONVENTIONAL warfare game with troops having to move across the land-- nukes would completely change the game.

Is there a nuclear future for this game?

And frankly, before I looked up the definition, I thought "afterwind" described some unfortunate burrito side-effect....

Is there some sort of European connotation I'm just not getting?

True, there's not much "nuclear" in the game as we planned at first. Actually, as of now, there's none of it.
But, eventually, we plan to live up to that name. So yes, there will be nukes

I hope you one day add a Nuclear Warfare mode where you can nuke other opponents. like not nuke the shit out of the country at the start i mean like you can buy Nukes for a cost like maybe 5-10k for nukes and they won be like leave a city incapacitated forever i mean units gone depending on attack of nukes

I kinda hope for a Nuke Strategy where the Nuclear units are even more powerful when you use them.

And then a Zombie apocalypsis mode, in where you control the Gov and the objetive is have under control the situation
