As far as most of us are concerned, Lao was probably the best pick in a while to become a mod

Yeah sure Desu is competitive, but u have to admit a little bit less active


Now after you'be say w/e you wanted to, let me evaluate Laochra on my own criterias:

1) From a timezone needed = NO.
2) Active = YES
3) Have knowledge about the game mechanics = YES.
4) Mature = YES
5) Professional = NO. - Definitely yes. If u could see how much he has actually changed and willing to help since he became a mod u would be surprised. Since he became a mod I personally asked him to help me with over dozen stuff, any kind of help actually, he was there each and every time. Yes blitz needed a nerf, u are still crying about that?
6) Fair = NO. - if he aint fair to you then ok
7) Helpful = NO - said everything before
8) Willingness to solve problems = NO. - if he isnt solving them in your favor and then u say no, than ok

I'll provide you explanation and proof of any one of those eights if you need.

2) How is being competitive something to be taken into account in the election of a mod? What does it influences? How does it even matter? Just so you know there are a lot of good mods that aren't competitive.

How is it not? Competitive part of atwar is probably the most importand and mods who are competitive players themselves have a certain value added to their credentials, as they have reached a high skill level and knowledge of the game they are about to moderate. By the way nice second strawman.

You judge and evaluate someone or something by comparison. Compared to all the other mods currently "employed", is Laochra really inactive?

I would like for you to prove me wrong yes. Since you wont take my personal experience as credible evidence, you can find them yourself, by collecting data about Laochras competitive career ( cws/ duels/ games) and his forum contribution about game tactics and mechanics. These should be enough.

Maturity was actually implied. Do not confuse a sense of humour and the occasional pranking with actual maturity and lack of. As for fairness i can only judge by what i have seen and my experience and i find him extremely sensible, reasonable and just. If you have an other opinion the burden of proof lies to you. As of yet you havent convinced me.

Atwar feels like communist Poland now. The guy that harass and oppress you become mod and now he have more power.

Madara ruined 3 clans (A-Team, Band of Brothers, Brothers in Arms) where many players put time and effort to build them. He made many of them give up on atwar(A R, Cherse, Light Soul/Killer, TruthWarrior, UndyingWill much more) and made Andartes leave the game.

He damaged the game and gets promoted to mod, good decision.

Trolling if humorous and taken with light heart is actually a positive thing, of course this is up to the receiving end to determine where the line is. The trouble is in the wording, is it 'trolling' ie the infliction of embarrassment or unreasonable distress or is it light hearted humour? Either was crushing a nut with a bulldozer is never the best way to deal with a situation.

Anyways at OP Acqui is spot on. Many times in this community rope is given only for us to hang ourselves with it.

He's totally the opposite, actually [LINK]. But maybe you can objectively give a reason about why laochra was a right choice for mods.

Because he is 1. Honest 2. Stands up for his opinion 3. Is sensible enough to listen to reason and change opinion if convinced well enough.

I Couldn't give a fuck about his knowledge, competitive competence or understanding of mechanics, simply put he applies logic (sometimes disagreeable) to whatever his argument is, this is what makes a good mod/adjudicator.

That was not my intention. I was just responding to the OT. Behind say, updating the FAQ is a topic concerning to the whole mod team, and Laochra always had the right to accept / decline it. The fact that he keep evading the question though, rather than addressing it just proves my point of how he ain't trying to solve any problem here. At the very minimal I'd expect a mod to post about it in their forums.

Anyway I've PM khal in private smashing down every single point he had tried to make here. Can't PM eagle due to a bug, but when I get him in-game I'll talk with him about this.

Hopefully we're over here.

Clovis aren't you like one of the last persons who could speak of fairness or proffessionalism? You rather recommended hdrakon or elcreyente as moderators because they are your friends. Laochra did enough to this community even the haters of laochra (not you obviously) could say that.

Like Acq said above, why you take every opportunity to bash on laochra in every thread thats about the mods, yet u make threads yourself why people bash on mods. Ironic.
Like if you or hdrakon or elcreyente will become mods in AW I think this game will die probably, atleast I know I wont be playing a game runned by some dictatorish friendship that tries to turn this game around the way it fits them the best.

You cant say laochra asked all those strat changes for himself because he could still beat the asses of those exploiters. So I really don't get the way you think, but I guess I'd have to have autism to get it.

Anyways keep on going, i'd like to read some funny stuff before heading to work.

There are 16 other mods yet you focus on me. You shouldnt be surprised that the volunteer who you spend all your time complaining about and bashing on the forums has no interest in addressing your personal requests. One of the other mods can deal with this, there are other issues in the community which i am attending to with what limited time i have.
