When it comes to city attack, there can be many parties attacking the same city at the same time
But on the other hand, there seems no way to defend a city from different parties at the same time?

Is it an old topic?

I think it's been talked before... but can't remember when or where exactly.

I know for a fact that you cannot defend your ally's city if it has units inside. However, you may defend his city if it is empty beforehand! You may also try to turnblock the attacking stack and follow it into the city he might be attacking, that way you'd be helping as well.

I'm not sure how would it be possible to command units to defend a city already defended by allied units without knowing wether or not that city is being attacked though. That's a task for a programmer I guess

Don't ever look down on someone unless you're helping him up. Don't ever treat someone else the way you wouldn't want others to treat you.
We're all people.

The suggestion has been to create a 'transfer units' feature - so you could help an ally by donating troops (much the way you send cash.)

This will not be implemented anytime soon, if ever. But it has been suggested and noted.

I just tried today to defend my ally's empty cap. It works if it's empty AND if your ally does not bring new units. If it was empty on the turn you entered your orders, if your ally brings units of his own, yours will be left at the door, and will not participate in the combat.
