I have been thinking about it lately and I do not see this game going anywhere. The community that was once so active has been slowing down in activity and just not contributing. What was once formal discussions has turned into name-calling arguments over nothing. The moderators have failed in their job to protect the community from harm and ensure justice. Corruption has consumed many of them and they have no sense of dignity or responsibility. No longer do I see games played on a regular basis. I don't even see that many 3v3 anymore. I am hoping this is just some phase that atWar is going through because of like finals in schools. Custom games like WW2 aren't played by the top players anymore, it seems to only be rank 5s who just want to complain that they all have it harder than the next guy. Constantly people complain in games when I don't save them and win my battles and expect me to be the best when everyone knows im clearly a noob. This community is shit, the games are shit, the mods (not all but most) are shit. I suggest some changes be made to the game.

I consider the game to be all aspects, the bugs, the rules that still encourage trolls, the players, the lack of real moderators.

It's not the game, it's the people who play it. The game can only be as good as the players who play it act. Sure I trash talk, but I leave that stuff away from the forums. Forums are a place for conversation, not discouragement.

Which still affects the game. The lack of a mature community contributes to constant leavers, RP noobs and SP farmers as well as the lack of effort by true players because they know the game itself is ruined.

Well nothings changed with actual gameplay atm, theres nothing encouraging ppl to play. not enough rewards and focus on competitive play. new players are coming to aw and starting rp thinking gameplay on that map is encompassing the atwar experience when they should be directed to the default map for their first few ranks. and why would theyplay the default map? rp has nukes chemical weapons missiles satelites and fancy units. many of these new players will never learn where the true strategy and competitive gameplay lies. when theyre jumping into scenarios where all you need do is pick rich countries and spam nukes. this is ivan and amoks fault, competitive gameplay is the backbone of any strategy game. and theres not enough focus on it here. all we have is elo, a broken cw system, and no changes to gameplay in the year since i started playing this. and things shall continue to remain stagnant until html5 is done.

But that's the thing they aren't all boring. Youre telling me no Clan War has ever been fun at all? eu+ maps and complex scenarios are a lot of fun while they might require more experience and understanding if you can get those basics you will love the games. They play things like RP because it is played all the time and it is simple concept and you don't have to worry abot ever running out of money.

im having difficulty understanding your post but have you ever even played roleplay? and competitive is fun hence we play it, gives people something to aim for, something to master, challenge, good games, overcoming opponents playing their best. this is fun, if you disagree then why are you even playing this and not roleplay? take it from someone who knows what theyre talking about, other strategy games ive played, games like starcraft age of empires all have ranking systems and competitions. players seek to increase their skill and improve to have good challenging games. custom maps are fun, i never said they werent but only a handful are competitive. roleplay players will never learn to economise, they dont need to, they wont learn how to play strats correctly. how to be efficient, how to priorities and manage their moves. most of the strats are useless on rp because they dont affect most the units. atwar was bult around the default map.it was made and balanced by ivan and meant to be the primary showcase of aw. so why is it now being sidelined for lower quality maps? why isnt gameplay on it being encouraged more? the custom maps were only ever meant to be for fun and a bit of change. if the new generation of players is a mass of skilless high rank scenario players then ill have little reason to remain around here anymore.

It's hard to try to help the community and read people saying we do nothing almost every day, you know? As for your concerns, I don't think the game is dying, but it's community is obviously changing. I'm not a big fun of those scenarios either and I'm always looking to play on the default map, but we have to accept their choice to have a different experience than we did. Don't get me wrong, I think Ivan and Amok are working to put the html 5 version online ASAP and I'm pretty sure more updates will come after that aiming to add more options to the competitive players too.
Back in my day the 40 players online were all on the same room watching the only tournament going on

You know... RP is taking away all the people that could have gone to decent scenarios. Ultimate ww2 use to be the most played decent scenario in atwar, at his peak you could fill 2 games of 18 and still have people spectating, waiting for a remake. Those days are gone, now you can barely host a ww2 once a day if and only if you allow half of the players to be noobs. Ww2 hasn't changed and is still as fun as always, even more because tik keeps adding interesting stuff, but now noobs stay in RP while ww2 players quit atwar in frustration. Soon there will be no enough ww2 players to play. This is not limited to ww2, all other scenarios suffer the same effect, they are dying slowly due to lack of decent players. Once decent scenarios die, you won't bring them back, future atwar players will assume that the golden days of custom maps started and died with RP and once RP is replaced by another shitty scenario, they will moan that RP was better. Maybe you guys don't see this because you play 3v3 with 8+ rank limit. We should remove SP from RP, and let's see if they play it for "FUN"

Laochra is actually right. Our generation, the generation of 2013, was actually based upon 2 things. These 2 things where 3v3s or UN maps. Some chose to play 3v3, some chose UN.. Todays generation is... 20% 3v3s, 80% scenarios.. But really, we can't stop people from playing scenarios, it's what they find the most fun in. Atwar doesn't always have to be that serious game that you need to dedicate so much into to become a really good competitive player. I'm not even an old player, playing for 1 year is not considered old. But I am thankful I was brought up on a 3v3 lifestyle. I respect scenarios, all the time an dedication that goes into making them. I support the map makers 100%, they are not ruining atwar. What is ruining atwar is everyone saying scenarios are ruining atwar. As I've stressed enough.. It is not your decision on what people should play, it is theirs. So here is my opinion. How about all of you clan leaders start accepting lower ranks and try to pave the way? There is only a select few clans that actually embrace low ranks joining, you have to give these guys that extra boost to try a 3v3 or 2.. And you never know, those players might become what you are doing now, making the next generation of atwar playing 3v3s. This is my thought on all of this.

I have failed to observe any of the issues that you have brought up as of lately. There are more 3v3s than ever, mods are definitely not corrupt, name-calling has always been around, (probably worse a couple years ago to be frank with you) (maybe YOU have experienced this, but globally, nothing has changed). The community has always been labelled as "shit" from the very beginning. What do you want? What do you expect? You have not proposed anything worthwhile in your respective rant. The mods are "shit" according to you, and probably several others. But why do you think this; you have not provided any reasons as to why. What should the mods be doing that they are not currently doing? Or in what aspect are the mods performing poorly in? We mods are players just like you, we do it voluntarily. We do the best we can. We don't have any unfair individual agendas of any sort. Why would we need that, and what benefit would it do for us? If we are not present to assist a situation where a player is misbehaving for example, or if we're not there to answer questions at the time that you ask one, then send us a pm, or make a report. We cannot possibly handle every situation with perfect efficiency every time. We have lives as well, and we are not always all online. As for player activity, your observation is false. AW's player activity has been incrementing consistently for a while. I mean, I think we're up to 600 players online on average now.

Here is a recent situation that happened today. Lord Pontez sent out a global message asking people to apply to Illyria, I make a smartass remark in global, waffle then lols on global and khal joins in insulting waffle (khal in Illyria btw). Acquiesce sends me a 15 minute mute from global, gives Waffel a 5 min mute, and Khal nothing. I don't think this is fair at all, either we are all punished or we all aren't. Acquiesce lets his own personal agenda about me affect his abilities as a mod and I feel that compromises his ability to handle matters. This will be edited or removed im sure but its a serious issue Acquiesce has done this before on occasions and I have stories about other mods doing the same, neglecting to hold their clan mates or friends to the same standard as everyone else. We are equal, or are we?

I played a quick RP on my Alternate Account Jose1223 and in 6 turns I had 1200 units and 5k income, and was well on my way to 1k sp it isn't fun and its a way to cheat the game. While there have been other games with worse SP farming, this is a game where it is played all the time so the total sp "farmed" is far greater than any map that has been banned for SP farming.

The main problem is the community itself; then it can lead into gameplay issues. People complain about people playing Custom Scenarios, and say that it ruins the game. In fact, custom scenarios are apart of the game, and you can't hate on someone who wants to play them.(If they think that custom scenarios are fun, dont drown out there experience by calling them noobs) I am relatively new to atWar, (I joined in Dec. 2013), I can tell you when I first started playing this game, I played a lot of world games. Then I found out about scenarios, UN, WW1, WW2, etc. All of those scenarios were very appealing to me as a new player then the same old boring world games. I quickly learned about coalitions, and that there was a competitive aspect to the game. I joined a clan, and starting learning and getting better. The community discourages lower rank players from ever learning the competitive aspect of the game, (calling them noobs, telling them to leave lobbies, or thinking they are too good to play with low ranks, and making it for 8-15 only).MODS INCLUDED<... This is one of the biggest problems... The community discourages younger players, calls them noobs, makes enemies, and then turns around and makes a post on a forum about how this game wont last, and complains about people playing scenarios. If you want people to be interested in the other side of this game, you have to introduce it to them first.... Most people probably dont even realize that this game has a forum, let alone a competitive playlist. Blame the community! then blame the game.

Exactly that would be a good idea. But maybe more importantly, add something new to global chat... Instead of asking people to join your game, or clan, maybe have mods constantly send out forum link of some sort. Advertise the forums? get people interested of what atwar is really about. It seems the mods are just here to enforce silly rules (not bashing mods in anyway) but why don't you help the community, and introduce new things.

And then you get mods that get on forums and post things like this: "I have failed to observe any of the issues that you have brought up as of lately. There are more 3v3s than ever, mods are definitely not corrupt, name-calling has always been around, (probably worse a couple years ago to be frank with you) (maybe YOU have experienced this, but globally, nothing has changed)." If a majority of the community are complaining about certain issues, there is obviously a problem. People arent just making stuff up to complain about. I have seen so much contradiction from mods lately. They claim they're players just like everyone else. but yet they "can't" be corrupt, nor do they namecall. Mods are here to help the community in the best intrests of the community, and report anything they feel necessary to the admins. Lets be real here, none of this is happening.
