Now that the SP reduction is in place, it seems like a victory for those who hated RP and thought it was dragging away new players from games and creating high ranked noobs. While the latter is finally combated, statistics show that RP was created only 2 days after a game such as Ancient World, and has only had 9710 plays, whereas Ancient world has more than double that; 19146 plays. A Song of Ice and Fire is almost on par with RP, and was only created 2 months before it. Not to mention that it has been almost 2 years for each respective map mentioned. I won't even add the insanely huge amount of world plays that have been recorded.
In essence, it's now the time to reflect on the implications and real situations that have happened before the multiplier and what will happen during the introduction. Role Play was mainly protested due to SP farming, but there were also numerous about Role Play stealing away the community base, when in reality, the community has still been there. Concluding, while this surely has 'deadened' the community who plays for SP farming, the complete 'deadening' of Role Play isn't needed.

You are so wrong, i don't even know were to start
"Statics" prove nothing, GoT and Acient World were published within 2 months of being created, while it took a year for RP to appear.
Facts:
When i got perma-banned RP barely had 1500 plays. (This was around late 2013)
RP just took away the playerbase of UN after High Ranks killed it. (Constant Trolling and Rogues)
RP is dead, i log on today and found 0 Rps and nobody asked for it in lobby

another odd thread, this just calls into question the motivations behind players flocking to certain maps, is it the sp? or do they truly enjoy the map. If rp goes dead because of this, you have your answer.

You all just completely blew off the statistics. Role play was made only 2 days after Ancient World, and has more than double the plays. And you still say that this proves nothing, that players continue to play Role Play so much that the community mostly plays that? You can even see for yourselves; Ancient world of created 12/2/2012, Role Play began with Tempted's Role Play, which began 12/4/2012. Even Adog's RP doesn't have 1k plays.
The most played UN game(Cronus) has less than 5k. Combined with the next 13 other UN-type games, doesn't even make 7.5k plays. Combined with RP, both are still less than Ancient world, and that's just ONE map.
another odd thread, this just calls into question the motivations behind players flocking to certain maps, is it the sp? or do they truly enjoy the map. If rp goes dead because of this, you have your answer.
This calls into question how much each map is played, with UN(14 versions) and RP(2 versions) not equaling up to 1 map(Ancient World). So it's to refute the claim that the player base prefers RP and UN and diplomacy games over games like Ancient world, world games, etc.
Keep in mind, RP and UN and a very small sector of the vast amount of maps that don't use diplomacy, including scenarios. So, those who play RP and UN without playing others, are the very small minority, and those who play RP and UN mixed with other games, can still be the minority, as the plays of other games and scenarios are still larger than diplomacy maps.

Nice trolling. I don't use RP to rank up, and hardly worry about ranking up in the first place, and I've played this game since November 9, 2012.
Again, you miss the point of my thread, and go to a personal attack because you obviously can't distinguish a thread about "RP being penalized and oppressed" from a thread giving you statistics on why bashers like you can't get a grip and understand that the community wasn't going en masse to RP, and still played games much more than just RP, and the community wasn't dying. I never said once that I didn't agree with the reduction, but what I don't agree with is the fact that people who hate RP think it's true to say that the community only played RP and mostly RP and that those who didn't play it were the minority, when it's completely false.

The thing is that the people who play RP aren't premium generally speaking. So they play world 50k maps or others things which don't take much skills or much effort to think rather than spamming a lot of units. Then a few rp'ers which have premium keep making those games and fill completely in much less than any ancient game does. We're talking about 20 people per rp while an ancient game having that much people is considered a really huge success! The fact is that this people that can't make it to the rps that are made try other maps that aren't competitive enough and you can clearly detect them. It's kinda obvious, lame and laughable at the same time (sorry for the offense). A cause of the high number of ancient games can also be the nice number of duels and some kind of team games of it that dont need many people.

I suppose, and I've already put that into play, but generally speaking, 8-10 people is the norm for Ancient games, correct? If so, it still means that there's a smaller division because ancient world has more than twice the number of plays. Not to mention that if too many people leave in an RP, then the game fails, whereas with Ancient world, that generally doesn't mean the same thing. Therefore, while there is less people, the games typically last longer, and have more plays than RP.
I guess saying that RP being the minority is bit dramatic, but it's certainly not the majority. At worst, it's a half and half division of the community, otherwise RP is just the largest minority that doesn't exactly have the biggest impact on players, especially competitive, who have more than enough skill to top these players. I understand the need for the SP reduction, but it's mundane to think that diplomacy games are ruining the community.

Your post makes no sense, I don't see the point that you are trying to make, please be more specific.
Maps have way more plays than scenarios, is natural as scenarios require up to 20 people to start, while maps only require 2 people. The most Popular (non-rp) custom map is Acient World with 20,000 plays, while the most popular custom scenario has 3000 plays.
Facts:
Ancient World has more plays than the 20 most played custom scenarios combined.
World Map has more plays than all the custom scenarios combined and multiplied by a thousand.
World Map has more plays than all custom maps combined.

Ok, think of it this way... 8-10 people per ancient game, from which an average of 4 are always playing it and that are premuim usually too, the game is like an average of 10-15 turns long for west ancient while it can be like 20-30 turns maximum for some ancient world game (some excepcions might reach 40-50 turns). Then you must count all the 1 vs 1 games and some teams games in which there might be 3 vs 3. Sometimes a game fails cause of some noob or whatever and as soon as posible, they remake. On the other hand for RP you have 20 people for a single game that can be on for like 3-6 hours with turns of 5 min. It's quite much slower compared to ancient games. In the time that a RP takes places, you can play 2-4 ancient games. I've played once a 6 hour long RP, in that time i could have played 3-5 ancient games. I really think ancient doesnt have that large comunity, we're just a few ancient fans that start that map and then random people join, sometimes those people are RP'ers. RP'ers are kinda a large comunity but you wont see them always in RP since not so many people start them. But when they do, you can even see two full RPs at the same time (40 people and even some people asking for a place in the game lol) while that's barely posible for an ancient to happen. I dont think diplomacy games ruin a community but they do ruin competitiveness a bit cause people play RP for the simple reason that they couldnt care less about skills. This is a real fact that I've verified.

I really dont understand where you are confused. I've said that Ancient world is not a scenario, and has more than 19,000 plays, whereas role-play has almost 8,000 plays. Role-Play isn't a scenario, either.
Thus, it's not right to think that the community is mostly just Role-players who tried to deaden the community. People, before the SP reduction, made a lot of excuses on how RP is bad, not excluding the fact that they believe RP is played more often by the community than other maps. Ancient world, and I'm sure likewise with other maps, proves this false. I want to make sure that this idea is cleared up.
Understand the reason for this post?

Then that still leaves RP players in the minority, as Ancient world games more than double RP games, and since it's normal to have 8-10 players in ancient world whereas it is 20 players for RP, it's about half. The games are faster paced, they can get more games in and therefore, and get more players to play the map since they have a large sum of games available.
But, I can agree with you that it could be said that there is a lot of people who come out of an ancient world game, and re-start a new one with the same players, and that's why the results are strained. But that same thing can still be applied to RP games as well. Further, I don't think that, while the games are faster paced, could have the same players or minority of players exceed the amount of plays the majority has so vastly.
And I completely agree with the diplomacy/competitiveness divide, however, if it were truly a game completely about all-out warfare and no diplomacy, there wouldn't be a default limit of 20 alliances in a game or, if going to completely competitive side, any alliances at all. It was bound for diplomacy-type games to enter, especially with diplomacy and war being two very intermingling aspects. In the end, while RPers can boast their ability to negotiate(something foreign ministers and such must retain as a skill), competitors can also boast their skill in warfare. So, like you said, RP really can't ruin the community, so much as divide like any other game that has competitiveness mixed with casual game-types. The largest gaming companies have communities with the same divide and deal with it, so I don't know why it is such a large deal with ours to the point where we promote the ban of diplomacy and casual games.

So, those who play RP and UN without playing others, are the very small minority, and those who play RP and UN mixed with other games, can still be the minority, as the plays of other games and scenarios are still larger than diplomacy maps.
rp is not dead, low rank like you abuse it to get extra SP. it took me 3 fucking year to get to my rank 11 why it took Opi, the rp fag, 4 month to reach rank 10. rp didn't change it just reeduce the exploit so stop cry.
Its funny you are talking about 3 years, when you started in 2012.
Its also funny that when you were rank 9 critical, (back from A LONG TIME INACTIVE) ranked up to rank 11 in the same month RP was much played..

Concluding, while this surely has 'deadened' the community who plays for SP farming, the complete 'deadening' of Role Play isn't needed.
another odd thread, this just calls into question the motivations behind players flocking to certain maps, is it the sp? or do they truly enjoy the map. If rp goes dead because of this, you have your answer.
Lao has said everything that needed to be said for this thread.
If you enjoy the RP it self, dont cry about the SP reduce, be glad with it. Which means you can keep on playing more and more without ranking up, since much people dont like to be high rank when they can get beated by lower ranks. (people realize this after they SP farmed to rank 10 and suck.)

Why are you sadden by the sp reduction of rp. RP didn't change anything but equalize the amount f sp per game with other map. since you can make ton of sp in that map. Are you whining that you can't farm rp anymore?
I literally just said "I never once said that I didn't agree with the reduction".
why don't you agree? does that mean i can make cities highly dense with 10 reinfocrcement and name it roleplay. that call sp farming

Without RP lots of players are leaving i dont care if they are noobs or not. without players a game is pointless

Average SP per player in Tempted's RP is 59% GREATER than the average in World Maps, while Ancient World and Song of Ice and Fire are 26% and 16% respectively.

I don't consider the phrase "massive fag" to be an insult. Mods did.

Good calculations moderators As I have said in previous threads, mods are trying to make sp fair. And I think we are forgetting the true value of the game, which is to have fun.
