Has anyone else noticed the quick change from lax moderation, with nothing being done about trolls at all, to a quick overreaction and banning words like "Start"? Did we really have to ban the word "Start"? It's used in more sentences than spamming the word in a pregame lobby. Is there a way we can come to a happy medium, perhaps even poll players, premiums only if nothing else, on what types of things should and shouldn't be banned? I understand moderation is hard, but did if have to switch from virtually none to "iron fist" in two days?

We'll never be happy if more rules and regulations are put in place.

It's coming it happens everywhere eventually but I feel like it's gona hurt here and hurt bad. Regulation is not always the best way.

What we say doesn't matter. Just play the game, enjoy it as much as possible, and if you hate the change too much, quit.

Do you know if it is possible to implement the filter in defferent channels independently one from another?

indeed it is. Unless you have a better solution until the admins can apply protection against players like the help spammer?

This is not a big deal and is only temporary. The filters reset each server reset anyway, or at least until a mod clears it.

I don't have a better solution, I'm just pointing out that this thread wasn't a cry or flame thread, but it was a good attempt to talk about it and maybe try to find a way to fix it, and simply saying your opinion doesn't matter isn't a very good response

Ayyy the most efficient way to fight his immediate spam was to filter stuff out, didn't realize some of the words were of any actual use

also if you go somewhere in bug forum youll see me complaining about not announcing the censors so yea I was for announcing them before using the filter... however it came into great use now with this pitiful spammer

And if you actually read useful comments on forum you'd see I lifted all the usable words

Is it just me but that help channel guy never bothered me, just untick help in the chat box and u ll never see him again

Filtering is one of the worst way to clear spamming because html5 supports utf-8. There are so many permutations of different words that the detrimental effects of filtering outweigh the the few dozen spam messages it stops.

For example the word start. I can list at least a dozen ways to say it without actually changing the spelling of it.

There are so many characters for S T A R T that unicode supports that it would be impossible to filter out every combination.
This isnt going into how they can duplicate letters, spell words incorrectly but still get the meaning across, and all the millions of ways they can bypass the filter.

There are very few complete solution to this. Partial solutions such as forcing guests to register before being able to chat only slows it down.
The only clear cut way to solve this is to turn this game into a pay to play game and force everybody to pay for premium in order to play or do anything for that matter. Obviously this option while being the most effective at cutting down spam, is not the most financially viable.

Did the word filter really stop the spam? OR did it just create word flters that the spammers have to work around like the rest of us. So copy and paste still works...
